Version History
This page tracks what is known about guiformat versions, and what has changed on this site. We only list versions we can source; where a date or detail is unverified, we say so instead of filling the gap.
guiformat versions
| Version | What is known |
|---|---|
| 1.01 | The current version published by RidgeCrop Consultants. Available as guiformat.exe (32-bit) and guiformat-x64.exe (64-bit). Portable — no installer. Formats an existing partition to FAT32; it does not create or resize partitions. The binary is unsigned, so Windows SmartScreen shows a warning on first run. |
No newer guiformat version has been published by the developer as far as we can verify. The developer’s site was unreachable when we checked in October 2026; if a newer version appears, this page will be updated. We do not list a release date for 1.01 here because we have not verified one from the developer.
Windows-side changes (not guiformat versions)
Two operating-system changes affect guiformat users and are sometimes mistaken for tool updates:
- Command-line FAT32 limit raised to 2TB. Microsoft’s April 30, 2026 update KB5083631 raised the command-line FAT32 formatting limit from 32GB to 2TB on Windows 11 versions 24H2 and 25H2. The Disk Management graphical interface still does not offer FAT32 over 32GB. See format a USB drive to FAT32 on Windows 11.
- Quick format has always existed on the command line.
format E: /FS:FAT32 /Qperforms a quick format; without/Q, a full format is slow. See quick vs full format.
This site’s history
- June 2026: Original site build (home, download, about, disclaimer, contact, privacy policy, and the SD-card formatting guide).
- October 2026: Honesty pass — removed unverified claims (including “VirusTotal Verified”, “100% Virus-Free”, and “Official” wording for this unofficial site), corrected the command-line formatting guidance, and added the Guides, Troubleshooting, Comparisons, Devices, and Buying Guides post clusters, plus this version-history page and a FAQ hub.
Download the current version from our download page, and always compare the file hash with the one printed there before running it.
